Atos enters Dow Jones Sustainability Index

Consulting firm Atos has been awarded membership of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index World (DJSI) for the first time in recognition of the corporate responsibility leadership around the world.

DJSI World aims to track the performance of the top 10 per cent of the 2,500 largest companies in the field of environmental and social responsibility.

The decision to give a place to Atos marks a new milestone for the firm in terms of the company's sustainability.

It has been awarded an A+ for the last three years from the Global Reporting Initiative for its corporate responsibility report, and has also been recognised by the “Great Place to Work Institute”.

Thierry Breton, chief executive officer of Atos, said: “We are pleased to announce that Atos is today part of global best-in-class performers in the field of corporate sustainability. This official recognition highlights our continued and long-term commitment to place sustainability as the foundation of our corporate strategy and, based on our experience, to accompany our clients to environmental and social excellence."

He added that the firm was proud to offer fully integrated carbon neutral housing services to help clients reduce their carbon footprint, and that Atos was determined to be recognised as an innovative and socially responsible company.

As part of the company's global corporate responsibility strategy, it has announced that it has further embedded sustainability in its thoughts, in an attempt to promote corporate values, green operations and innovative client solutions, while delivering a number of businesses, social and environmental commitments.

Among these is the implementation of the SAP Sustainability Performance Management analytic application, which has been installed among a number of offices in a total of 52 countries, which will help it manage to reach its sustainability goals.
