Atos named as outsourcing leader

International IT services company Atos has been praised as a leader in application outsourcing services by a new report.

According to analysis from Forrester Research, Atos received the best score for its vision in developing new technologies and strength in future strategies.

Forrester Research praised Atos for its SAP skills and its good international placement of staff and clients, especially across Europe.

Francis Meston, executive vice president at Atos, said: "We are pleased with the positioning of Atos as a leader in the Forrester report as we believe it demonstrates our continued focus on anticipating changing customer needs in application outsourcing.

"Application outsourcing is not only a means to introduce agility into the legacy environment, but can go beyond 'run the business' to 'change the business'. We focus on adapting our offering so we can contribute to an enhanced customer experience."

The study looked at 12 of the leading outsourcing service companies and evaluated them based on 43 different criteria, such as market presence, overall strategy, positioning of global delivery model and key emerging capabilities.

Last month, Atos announced the launch of a new information flow management solution in the form of DataLift.

The product is aimed at both public and private organisations that want to combine their digital information in to one package. Atos claims it will enable firms to add value to data by dynamic analysis - something that could bring capital gain and improve efficiency.

DataLift has already been used by a number of French-based organisations, such as IGN, the National Institute of Geographic and Forest Information, INSEE, the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies, and the DILA (Management of Legal and Administrative Information).

Other countries across Europe are already embracing the use of DataLift and it is expected it could be adopted across a number of industries, such as banking, health, retail and local government.
