Atos signs 5-year outsourcing contract with...

The international IT services company, Atos, has signed a five-year contract with leading perfume and fragrance company Givaudan, in a deal worth over €40 million (£34.93 million).

Atos will take charge of the operations of its central information infrastructure and system.

Chief information officer at the Givaudan, Adrien Gonckel, said: "We would like our information systems to contribute to consolidating our position as leader.

"It is from this perspective and after a highly competitive tender process, that we selected Atos as our partner, due to its proven track-record and reputation in outsourcing, and the quality of its proposal"

He added that the company would be relying on the ability of Atos to help provide an efficient industrial model in order to develop its IT production, while also guaranteeing the high service levels required in certain divisions of the company.

Patrick Potters of Atos France said that it would be providing expertise in major transformation projects, industrialisation, as well as outsourcing.

He added that dedication to these services, as well as helping customers, was "in the DNA" of both companies.

Walter Kagi, the chief executive officer of Atos Switzerland, said: "This agreement with Givaudan will allow us to considerably expand our activities in Western Switzerland.

"Thanks to our strong relations with customers and the spirit of cooperation in Atos, we will create a service model tailored to suit the requirements of Givaudan in collaboration with Atos service centres in Switzerland, France and in Poland."

Atos prides itself on being on of the leading firms in Europe for outsourcing activities, employing over 28,000 talented members of staff, with the company's turnover coming in at €4 billion.

The firm also manages to provide information management for over 140,000 servers, featuring a virtualisation rate of nearly 40 per cent.

It is also heavily involved in the cloud computing, with that side of the business, known as CANOPY, generating a turnover of around €200 million.
