Baringa Partners wins energy risk accolade

Specialist management consultancy Baringa Partners has been named Consultancy of the Year at the annual Energy Risk Awards.

It is the second year in a row that the firm has won the award, confirming its place as the consultancy-of-choice for the energy industry's leading and most innovative companies.

Baringa has worked with a host of big-name organisations across Europe in the last 12 months, including governments, regulatory bodies, utilities, oil companies, as well as financial institutions.

The company's continued growth has seen its headcount increase by 25 per cent during that time to reach 300 employees, helping it become one of Europe's largest and most reputable teams of consultants dedicated to the energy industry.

Baringa's turnover has subsequently increased to £60 million per annum.

Dan Look, partner in market and trading at Baringa, said: "Our deep knowledge of the financial services sector, combined with our extensive energy expertise means we support existing clients with enhanced specialised skills, at the same time exporting our knowledge to new market segments and new clients such as investment banks and commodity firms."

Mr Look added that the company's success had been built on a blend of both practical experience, deep knowledge of the industry, as well as expertise in risk management and regulatory strategy within energy and capital markets.

He believes that this has placed the company in a unique position in terms of supporting clients in the regulatory landscape.

He continued: "We are proud that our unrelenting focus on delivering results for our clients, and the bold strides we continue to make to evolve in line with the markets we serve, has been recognised for the second year running by the Energy Risk Awards."

The company was also recognised as the main regulatory advisor to the energy industry across the continent, developing expertise in regulatory market research, policy impact assessments, regulatory strategy, and programme implementation. Its place at the forefront of the industry has seen Brainga placed on the shortlist for the Energy Risk Award's Regulatory Advisory House of the Year.
