BearingPoint joins MCA

The Management Consultancies Association (MCA) has announced that management and technology consultancy specialist BearingPoint has joined to become its latest member.

BearingPoint has managed to build a reputation for itself as being one of the leading providers of management and technology consulting services in Europe. It currently has more than 3,000 members of staff across the continent, offering management and technology consulting services over more than 70 countries.

The announcement comes on the back of the firm's recent acquisition of the operational performance consultancy Trinity Horne, which operates three different business units, including public services, commercial services and financial services.

Members of the MCA currently account for 60 per cent of the fee income of the UK consulting industry, while also comprising 30,000 jobs within the industry.

They also work with more than 89 per cent of the top FTSE 100 companies, covering nearly all areas of the public sector.

There is a code of practice to which all firms are expected to meet, providing a level of reassurance among those looking to purchase consulting services that such companies are expected to meet a certain standard in terms of what they provide to clients.

James Rodger, regional leader UK and Ireland, said: “We’re very excited about the new opportunities membership of the MCA will offer to BearingPoint and our consultants. We look forward to working closely with Alan Leaman and his team and contributing to the valuable work that the MCA does on behalf of the UK consulting industry.”

Alan Leaman, Chief Executive of the MCA said: “BearingPoint’s experience of both local and global issues will be a huge asset to the MCA membership. We’re delighted that they will contribute to our industry thinking and the MCA’s wider business and economic influence.”

The announcement of BearingPoint joining the organisation comes on the back of the MCA announcing a new president.

Chris Cooper, the founder and head of Challenge Consulting, is to take up the role until 2016, taking over from Aimie Chapple of Accenture.
