Capco appoints new partner

Consulting firm Capco has appointed a new global client partner in its banking practice.

Phil Walton will join the firm as part its financial services team and is expected to further drive the company's ongoing international growth.

"With many years of sales, management and delivery experience, I am confident that Phil will be an important driver within the organisation," said Christopher Geldard, Capco partner and head of the global banking practice.

He added: "Capco's global banking team is committed to delivering large scale innovative solutions to global banking institutions."

A former vice president of Hewlett Packard's enterprise group and positions at Huntington National Bank, Old Kent Bank and National City Corporation, Mr Walton has more than two decades of experience in working with technology and financial service companies and he has played a key role in developing customer relationship management, consumer banking, credit card processing and investment management products and services.

Capco provides consultancy services to firms involved in the banking, capital markets, risk and compliance sectors, and has recently increased its international profile.

The company was named as one of Canada's best workplaces by the Great Place to Work Institute Canada.

Published by the Globe and Mail, the annual list is based on a company's culture, HR policies and procedures and employee survey, and features some of the world's leading employers.

Capco was ranked among the top 100 Best Workplaces in Canada due to its credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie ratings.

Ismail Amla, chief executive officer of Capco North America said: "It's an honour for Capco to be ranked amongst so many other notable Canadian organizations. Our presence in Canada is a core contribution to our business in North America."

He added the company is trying to ensure "employees feel empowered and engaged - both regionally and on a global scale."
