Capita appoints Lee Cotsford as managing director

Capita has announced that it has appointed Lee Cotsford as managing director of its consulting business.

Mr Cotsford has worked at the firm since June 2010, when he was handed the role of heading up the consulting business' procurement and commissioning practice.

He specialises in cost reduction and business transformation, and boasts an impressive record of delivering benefits for clients through a wide range of initiatives.

Andy Parker, deputy chief executive and joint chief operating officer of Capita, said: "During his time as head of the procurement and commissioning practice Lee grew the business from one to 90 staff, developed a very strong management team and delivered both operational efficiency and client satisfaction."

Commenting on his appointment Mr Cotsford said: "I look forward to taking the helm of Capita’s consulting business at this important time."

He added that many businesses and organisations are focusing the bottom line in a way that has never been seen before, and that in times of austerity it was important to cater for clients by improving services for end users.

He went on to claim that achieving efficiencies for clients was "somewhat of a holy grail", but that a firm with a successful track record like Capita was capable of delivering savings and improving customer experience.

His time spent in his previous role saw Mr Cotsford responsible for both the procurement and external advisory service for a range of clients in the private and public sector.

Other previous roles include working at KPMG and Axon Global, where he was a consultant within a variety of sectors, including financial services, local government and pharmaceuticals.

Mr Cotsford will start work in his new role immediately.

The news comes just over a week after the appointment of Andy Lockwood as the managing director of Capita's clinical solutions business, bringing with him 20 years worth of experience within the technology sector, due to having worked in small innovative businesses and global companies implementing major technical infrastructure projects.
