Crimson launches new supply chain resource

Crimson and Co, the leading end-to-end supply chain consultancy, has announced that it has launched a new online self-assessment tool, as part of its approach to improve supply chains.

Known as scprime, the new strategy has already been successfully used by the firm in dealing with its clients since 2003.

In 2010, it was made more available to a wider audience, thanks to the launch of the first edition of its scprime book, The Journey to Supply Chain Excellence, which received favourable reviews from both the press and its clients.

The book is now in its third edition, and Crimson now hopes that the new self-assessment tool will help its client base even further.

Supply chain professionals around the world will now be able to gain easy-to-use access to what it hopes will be a valuable source of information, while also allowing them to gain a thorough understanding of what benchmarks their business should be striving towards.

Crimson and Co is one of the most trusted names within the industry, drawing on around 140 years of experience at board level, during which time it has provided comprehensive industry knowledge across areas such as supply chain strategy, planning and control, procurement, manufacturing, and logistics.

The service has also been tested by a number of professionals within the industry, including John Burdett, vice-president of global operations planning at Tata Global Beverages.

Mr Burdett commented:  “The scprime online tool is easy to use, easy to understand and the reporting is quick. The site will enable our Global Operations to assess our supply chain business process capability with an efficient and consistent approach.”

Phil Mason, scprime leader at Crimson & Co added: “Following the success of the scprime book format which was launched in 2010, we decided to offer a more easily digestible option which is quick to complete and provides an instant report after less than ten minutes of questions for a capability area."

Mr Mason also stressed that the feedback from customers had been overwhelmingly positive, and that he was pleased the company could offer such expertise to clients all over the world.
