Atos Consulting has announced that it has appointed Elaine Bennett has a partner and leader of its health consulting business.

Ms Bennett joins the company to lead the operation having previously held a role at Finnamore Consulting, and boasts around 20 years of experience within the health sector, which includes the role of being director of an acute hospital trust and the chief executive of a number of commissioning organisations.

She commented: “I am delighted to be joining Atos Consulting and I look forward to developing further our work with clients in the health sector. Atos Consulting is well-positioned to support future developments, as we combine deep insight into the health improvement agenda with the global scale and technology expertise of Atos."

Lee Timmins, senior vice president for Atos Consulting commented: “We are very pleased that Elaine has joined the health consulting team. We are now scaling-up to support future developments in the health service, which will increasingly depend upon business technology solutions”.

Ms Elaine joins Atos at a good time for the firm, which this year picked up the Management Consultancies Association Award for Change Management in the Public Sector.

The company won the accolade on the back of its work NHS Staffordshire Commissioning Support Unit, although it also takes part in various projects alongside the NHS, with projuects ranging from running wholesale service transformation in the acute sector in England, to running systems such as e-Pharmacy for NHS Scotland.

The firm have three weeks to register for next year's award, with the deadline of November 1st for consulting firms that wish to be considered for the prize.

The Management Consultancies Association (MCA) is reminding all UK based consulting firms that the 2014 MCA Management Awards deadline is just three weeks away, with all entries to be received by 1st November 2013.

This year there are a total of 22 categories, 13 for projects and six for individuals, while another three overall awards will  be given for Project of the Year, Consultant of the Year and Best New Consultancy.
