Hitachi Consulting acquires Celerant Consulting

Hitachi Consulting has announced that it has completed the acquisition of Celerant Consulting as it looks to improve its presence in North America, Europe and South America.

The company said that the deal will allow it to benefit from Celerant's vast expertise across chemical, consumer, energy, industrial, life sciences, metal and mining sectors.

Hitachi is also looking to make use of Celerant's client base which spans over 57 countries.

Shinjiro Iwata, senior vice president and executive officer, president chief executive and telecommunication systems company of Hitachi, said: "We are very pleased to have Celerant Consulting as a part of the Hitachi Group.  As Hitachi’s largest in-house company, Hitachi Information & Telecommunication Systems Company is targeting to grow revenue from the consulting business to 130 billion yen (£916 million) by fiscal 2015."

Phil Parr, president and chief executive of Hitachi Consulting, added that the company is committed to pursuing acquisitions which will enable it to deliver a "complete range of strategy, implementation, and technology services for our clients".
