KPMG announces new head of public sector

KPMG has announced the appointment of a new head of public sector across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Alan Downey, who has been with the company for over 20 years, has been promoted to the role after focusing on organisational restructuring and operational transformation within the government and healthcare sectors.

He will step into the position following Ulrich Maas' move to the KPMG Germany Supervisory Board and will be tasked with ensuring that operations across EMEA run smoothly helping the company's clients in these regions.

Mr Downey has been leading KPMG's UK public sector practice and will now transfer his expertise on to an international basis.

Graeme Ross, EMEA head of markets at KPMG, spoke of his pleasure of welcoming Mr Downey to the role, stating: "Alan's deep experience across the public sector has enabled him to build a reputation for delivering results that improve the efficiency and performance of our public sector clients."
