A KPMG official has been honoured at Consulting magazine's 2012 top Women Leaders In Consulting.

Laura Hay was named among the best candidates within the 'Leadership' category and the accolade recognises the stellar work that she has been doing at the advisory company during her tenure.

Ms Hay currently heads up a team of 1,000 professionals, and is actively involved with leading diversity initiatives within the financial sector in a bid to get more women into the industry.

Since joining KPMG in 1993 she has been an integral member of the business' board of directors and the KPMG foundation and spoke of her delight at landing this accolade.

"I am deeply honoured to receive this award and humbled to join the ranks of all the tremendously talented women who have been recognised in the past. I hope that young women professionals will view awards like these as an inspiration to pursue and achieve their goals," Ms Hay added.
