LOC Consulting appoints new associate director

LOC Consulting has appointed Carol Beckford as its new associate director and she has been tasked with spearheading the firm's engagement in the public sector.

The management consultancy, which specialises in the delivery of business change and IT programmes, said that Ms Beckford will primarily be responsible for increasing the firm's focus on the healthcare sector and strengthening its public sector offerings.

She has extensive experience in planning and implementing project change initiatives and risk management across a myriad of public, private and third sector clients, while also operating as an independent consultant for more than ten years.

Ms Beckford has rolled out transformational change in a diverse range of enterprises, including NHS London, the Department of Health and the Metropolitan Police.

The new associate director joins LOC from a programme at health services regulator Monitor, where she supported the senior team in establishing a new price function that stemmed from the implementation of the Health and Social Care Act 2012.

Prior to becoming an independent consultant, Ms Beckford worked with professional services firm PwC for 11 years.

Commenting on her appointment, she said: "I’ve had a close affiliation with the company for many years now, and I have always admired its focus, organisation and management. LOC already has a good reputation within the health sector and I am looking forward to working with my colleagues to build upon this."

LOC has more than a decade's experience in specialist management consultancy under its belt, having successfully delivered a range of business initiatives, programmes and projects or clients in the health sector.

Peter Osborne, managing director of the firm, believes that healthcare is a "hot topic" at the moment, with everyone having an opinion on what the right solutions are. He added that consumers have become more demanding, leading the NHS to evolve and become more multi-faceted to meet these expectations.

"Carol’s extensive experience in the healthcare sector will be invaluable to the executive team, helping them to show health managers how to reorganise their systems in order to be more effective so that they can optimise their strategy according to best practice and within budget,” Mr Osborne explained.
