Moorhouse appoints new technology lead

Transformation specialist Moorhouse has announced that it has appointed Charlie Wijsman as its new client director and practice lead of its telecoms media and technology (TMT).

Mr Wijsman has joined from Deloitte, where he was chief operating officer of its operations excellence practice.

During his time at the firm he worked with a number of major clients including EMI, Virgin Media, EE, Vodafone and Universal.

He was also recently heading up a consortium of the biggest names in the music industry, aiming to design and implement a new shared service that would help it transform the management rights and royalties for musical works around the world.

Overall, Mr Wijsman boasts around 14 years of experience on board level strategy and operations transformation, in both the capacity of an external consultant and in-house expert.

In his new role as head of the TMT team, Mr Wijsman will be primarily focusing on the delivery of business critical projects for clients in relevant sectors.

Commenting on his appointment at Moorhouse, he said: "I am delighted to be joining the firm at such an exciting time. The TMT sector has seen huge challenges in recent years as businesses rethink their operating models in response to relentless margin pressures, the impact of ‘digital’ on consumer behaviours, the challenges and opportunities of ‘big data’, and the need to invest in new products and services to fuel growth. I look forward to continuing my work in this exciting and dynamic sector at Moorhouse.”

Stephen Vinall, Moorhouse managing director added that he was delighted that the company would be welcoming someone with such a high level of experience in the TMT sector.

He said: "Charlie is a great addition to the team and has really hit the ground running in delivering to the business."

The company is already hoping that his appointment will help design and deliver successful transformation strategies for its clients.

Mr Wijsman, who speaks both German and Italian, officially joined the company in June of this year.
