Partner in new department at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants...

Christian Fischer has been appointed as partner in Roland Berger Strategy Consultants' new restructuring and corporate finance competence centre, meaning the company has gained an experienced restructurer and manager.

Mr Fischer will begin his role in January 2014 and the aim of his appointment will be to bolster the leadership of the new global restructuring and corporate finance competence centre.

Roland Berger Strategy Consultants set up this new centre just a few weeks ago in the hope that it will provide comprehensive support to clients in the areas of corporate restructuring and corporate finance combined with strategy consulting - placing all these areas all under one roof.

Sascha Haghani, deputy chief executive officer of the Germany office and head of the new competence centre, said: “We are delighted to welcome Dr Christian Fischer, an experienced consultant and top-notch manager, to our team – thus regaining one of our former fellow Partners.

"His comprehensive expertise in restructuring, turnaround and insolvency management, both as a consultant and as a board member, will help enhance the services we offer our clients."

Mr Fischer originally joined the restructuring team at Roland Berger 14 years ago, in 1999. He completed a postgraduate degree and a doctorate in business economics at his first job with Bosch. He was appointed partner in 2003 and in 2004 he moved to the board of an international construction group that dealt with turnaround solvency management in his roles as chief restructuring officer and chief financial officer.

In 2006, Mr Fischer joined the board of a listed, internationally operating high-tech firm in the Netherlands. Between 2007 and 2012 he was chief executive officer of this company. As well as his expertise in senior management, Mr Fischer can now contribute his wealth of experience Roland Berger, including his knowledge of operational and financial restructuring, negotiating and renegotiating financing, as well as mergers and acquisitions.

Mr Fischer is also an acknowledged expert in the management of growth, innovation and technology.
