The MCA is the Management Consultancy Association, the major trade body for the consulting firms and industry in the UK.
The purpose of the role is to grow the MCA’s revenue. This will happen by recruiting new members and by securing sponsorship of MCA activity. Also revenue will be gained through sourcing new commercial revenue streams for the organisation. Additionally, to focus on retaining the existing member base. To provide, develop and enhance the MCA service offering to members, and market and promote this effectively. To continually seek to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the member retention and recruitment process.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Member recruitment and retention
- Ensure MCA meets or exceeds member income targets and new member income targets
- Develop new member recruitment strategy by continually developing a list of potential members and marketing and selling membership.
- Implementing a comprehensive system of account management aimed at maximizing member retention and member benefit
- Develop and execute member communication strategy.
- Manage Membership Committee meetings
- Take overall responsibility for member networking events
- Manage Member Account Executive (to be recruited)
Sponsorship
- Develop sponsorship strategy, working closely with the Chief Executive
- Develop a target list of sponsors and secure sponsorship of key MCA activity including events, dinners, reports, newsletters and awards
Commercial Development
- Identify and implement plans for sourcing new commercial projects and activities.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders and third parties
- Play a leading role within the MCA team and assist with delivering the MCA’s 3 Year Plan
Business development and sales
- Commercial awareness: ability to negotiate with new members and sponsors
- Good knowledge of management consulting industry - nature of the work, major players, key issues, trends. Ideally experience of working within the management consulting industry
- Account / relationship management and customer focus skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to people at all levels including presentations to groups
- Project management skills
- Written communication skills, ability to produce MCA marketing materials, write articles and reports
- People management, organisation and co-ordination and delegation skills
- Budget management skills and understanding of business finances
- An understanding of the role of trade bodies and membership organisations
