Capgemini teams up with The General

Consulting firm Capgemini has confirmed it has teamed up with auto insurance company The General to improve claims processing for customers.

The provider has opted for Capgemini's Insurance Connect for Claims solution to oversee its claims, policy and billing.

"Our first priority at The General is our customers' satisfaction, so we are transforming our legacy systems, with innovative, enhanced and streamlined claims, billing and policy services that will grow with our business in the future," said Kent Fourman, chief information officer for The General.

Insurance Connect for Claims is the first cloud-based subscription service offered by Capgemini and is aimed at small to mid-sized insurance firms. The main advantage is that it removes the need for companies to invest heavily in software and IT equipment from the beginning.

"We are seeking to increase accessibility of world class claims, policy, and billing processing capabilities to enable carriers to focus on their brand proposition and directly impact customer experience without necessarily having to build the infrastructure or maintain the processing systems," said John Mullen, vice president of insurance at Capgemini.

He added that legacy migration presents a number of costs and issues for smaller companies that could be solved by the new cloud solution.

Capgemini Consulting's skill in the thought leadership sector was recently recognised by a market analyst for the consulting industry.

Source named as Capgemini in the top five management consultancy firms in the world for thought leadership in the second half of 2013 - an improvement of ten places for the international firm.

The improvement has been attributed to the consulting firms work in analysing the digital economy and improving reaction to its opportunities and transformational qualities.

Report author and director at Source Edward Haigh explained: "Capgemini Consulting’s thought leadership about digital transformation is of a consistently high standard and is a good example of what can be achieved when a consulting firm commits itself to a topic."

Capgemini is one of the world's leading providers of consulting services and employs more than 130,000 people in 40 countries.
