Francesco Burelli, partner in the payments practice at INNOVALUE, has been named the 2014 'Industry Consultant of the Year' by the ATM Industry Association (ATMIA) Awards.

The executive committee at ATMIA Consulting decided Mr Burelli deserved the accolade to recognise the hard work he has done over the last year and the "phenomenal contribution" he has made to the firm.

Mike Lee, chief executive of ATMIA, said the consultant has been involved in some impressive and important projects, including the 2014 Global ATM benchmarking study, research for the Bitcoin: Virtual Currency with Real Opportunities report and the paper on Alternative Operating Systems for ATMs for ATMIA‘s 2020 committees.

Mr Burelli has also helped to develop a financial impact scenario to evaluate cost structures and migration strategies for operating systems for ATM machine developers.

"The professionalism and passion of these deliverables provide great branding for ATMIA and very useful business information for our members," Mr Lee said.

"Thanks to Francesco for this excellent work. We, at ATMIA, look forward to continuing to work with Francesco and INNOVALUE‘s team for the betterment of our industry and the delivery of even better services to our members."

Mr Burelli said it had been a honour and a privilege to work with the firm over the last few years and he receiving the accolade for 'Industry Consultant of the Year' has been a humbling experience. He added that he appreciated the recognition he has received and thanked ATMIA for the trust it placed in him and and his work.

The award-winning consultant also thanked his colleagues for their support, without which the research he produced would not been possible or deliverable.

Mr Burelli was presented with his prize at ATMIA's flagship 16th annual US conference in Las Vegas on Monday (February 23rd).

ATMIA is an independent, non-profit trade association that engages in non-competitive promotion of the ATM industry. It aims to drive convenience, growth and usage worldwide, while protecting the sector's assets, interests, reputation and public trust.

The organisation provides education, guidance on best practice, a political voice and networking opportunities to all of its members.
