KPMG celebrates 2017 achievements

KPMG has looked back on some of its highlights from the past year, one of which was retaining its status as one of the top employers in the UK for university leavers.

The firm was ranked eighth in the Times Top 100 Graduate Employers survey for 2017, as well as featuring in tenth place in the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index.

KPMG achieved second place in the inaugural Social Mobility Employer Index, which was set up by the Social Mobility Foundation, Social Mobility Commission and the City of London Corporation to recognise those organisations that have made efforts to hire people from a range of social backgrounds.

Other highlights for the company included being named in the Best Employer for Race list and receiving the Workplace Equality Award for Recruitment from Business in the Community.

These announcements were made as part of KPMG's disclosure of its financial results for the fiscal year up to September 30th 2017, a period which delivered record revenues of £2.17 billion. That figure marked an increase of five per cent from the previous year's £2.06 billion.

The firm has experienced a particularly busy year, partly because broad trends such as regulatory reform and geopolitical change led to higher demand for advice from clients.

Particular business highlights included strong growth in the management consulting practice, which posted an 11 per cent increase in revenue. This was driven by clients looking for new operating models in areas such as IT services, finance, people and learning.

Bill Michael, chairman of KPMG UK, said: "We are operating in a period of unprecedented change and this creates great opportunity for our firm. Our clients are navigating complex regulatory and geopolitical change, while technology continually reshapes and disrupts their markets.

"I believe KPMG has a pivotal role to play to help businesses through this period, helping them to adapt, evolve and grow."
