Microsoft puts faith in Halo 4

by Aurelia Blass

Microsoft has announced that the release of the new Halo 4 game will boost Xbox 360 sales.

However, the company's designer Developer 343 has admitted nerves ahead of the unveiling of the latest instalment in the popular series. The team has taken over from original creators Bungie and realises that Halo 4 will be a marker of their success.

Computing giant Microsoft already faces stiff competition from Sony's Playstation 3 and staff at 343 are determined not to disappoint with the impending release.

Producer Kiki Wolfkill stated that there was "a lot of pressure" to please the huge online community that Halo has but said that it was "really exciting".

Chris Lewis, European vice-president of Microsoft, said: "It's no secret that Halo is hugely important for us. It is a very big bet. And driving up the cultural relevance, and giving it the relevant support, marketing, PR and otherwise, it is a huge piece of entertainment."

Microsoft has also announced that it will release Gears of War 3 and Forza Horizon for the Xbox amongst others alongside Halo.
