Procurement Consultants - Any operational consultancy experience

Job reference:
Competitive depending on experience
Job type:
Perm - Consulting
Operational Improvement, Supply Chain / Procurement
Date posted:
Mindbench is currently working with a leading consultancy that specialises in Strategic Sourcing and Procurement consultancy. The firm is not a procurement company, but rather a top management consultancy firm with functional expertise in all areas of sourcing and supply chain.

Company Overview:
The proposition to clients and to potential recruits is simple – The company combines the credentials of a top tier consulting firm with the benefits of a focused specialist.  For their people, this means a top tier consulting career, but within a different culture.

As a management consultancy, the work is predominantly project-based.  A typical project would involve, on average, a team of three to 15 consultants working on a project for a period of around six months. The team might comprise a Vice President, a Principal who runs the project day-to-day, and a team of consultants, each assigned to a specific workstream.

Clients are based throughout Europe and beyond.  Teams are usually based at the client from Monday to Thursday, with an opportunity to catch up with the rest of the firm on Fridays.  Consultants can expect to work across a broad range of clients, industries and geographies, and this variety of experience is a critical part of what is offered.

Minimum requirements:
Although the firm is a procurement specialist, we are looking predominantly for people with strong operational consulting skills rather than sourcing specialists. Experience with procurement and supply chain is not essential.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:
  • Top academics - minimum 2:1 in quantitative subject (Engineering, Physics, Maths, Economics etc.) and preferably A at A Level Maths or Physics.
  • 1 years+ experience working in operational consultancy - Big 4 or boutique.
  • European Languages highly desirable.
  • Desire to work in an international environment - the company has consultants from all over the world and takes on projects all over Europe and further afield, so an international mindset is essential.
  •  A quick thinking, analytical mind, coupled with a high level of energy.
