Our client is a growing advisory boutique focussing on providing insight and intelligence for the consulting sector. 

● Editing: You will edit work written by other members of our team, typically reports or PowerPoint deliverables. Looking at both the content and the form, you will critique and improve the structure and style so as to ensure our research and insights are communicated in an accurate, effective and engaging way.
● Writing: Starting from either a blank piece of paper or from notes that have been prepared for you, you’ll write reports about trends in the professional services market. We will also ask you to write marketing content such as newsletters, blogs, mailers and sales material. Your work will conform to our house style and uphold the integrity of our research while also displaying a lightness of touch and an ability to engage the reader.
● Proofing/copyediting: On occasions, they  may ask you to undertake proofreading/copyediting tasks using your sharp eye, strong knowledge of grammar, and comfort adhering to a style guide, to make corrections as required.

This is the sort of person they need:
They need a versatile editor/writer who can discuss business topics in a confident and
conversational, non-stuffy, style. They need you to be a skilled imitator, comfortable writing in a similar way to our other publications, which means being knowledgeable, intelligent, opinionated and (provided you’re all those things first) funny.

Their research is largely based on quantitative data, so we also need you have the ability to talk about facts and numbers with precision. You need to have a logical mind, able to construct and deconstruct a line of reasoning easily, anticipating counterarguments and answering them before they even occur to your reader.

Finally, a sense of perspective is the key to this role. While it is necessary to understand the detail of their research in order to build a powerful argument, it is equally important not to lose sight of the overarching messages - an ability to zoom in and out of the detail, and to take the reader along on that journey, is of paramount importance.
The successful candidate will have at least three years’ professional writing experience, preferably in the area of business writing. Proofreading experience is also a must. Experience in the management consulting or wider professional service industry is a plus. If you have experience writing thought leadership for a consulting or law firm, we’d especially like to talk to you. They want ourtheir organisation to consist of people who:
