Job description
Led by a team of ex-Uber, Salesforce, Amazon, Facebook executives and exited founders, our client is looking for a talented Senior Marketing Manager to join them in scaling the “ChatGPT for your people.” Already deploying with some of the world’s largest blue-chip brands, they have received substantial seed funding from four venture capital funds across San Francisco, New York and London. They are backed by selected Unicorn CEO/Founders who have already scaled in a similar space with demonstrated domain specialism and sustained profitability and growth. Their mission is to give everyone a voice at work by leveraging the power of AI & video. They are seeking highly motivated missionaries who believe in democratising the workplace, the need for underrepresented voices to be heard and the potential for a more inclusive world through technology.
They enable their large corporate customers to run the equivalent of a 100,000 person focus group/survey with instant AI summarisation of the key outputs and strategic suggestions generated. Whether you’re a facilities worker or a CEO, your opinion matters - now it can also be heard at the very top, thanks to them. The company is only at the beginning of its journey. This role therefore suits someone excited by the prospect of building and scaling from the earliest stages, which means diving into diverse areas of the business and having a real impact.
Location
The team works out of dedicated offices in West London. However, they prioritise hiring the best people regardless of where they are based and are firm believers in remote work. They are therefore open to people based anywhere near a UK time zone who are comfortable with infrequent and company-expensed travel to London. Likewise, they also offer sponsorship for those who are interested in relocating to London.
The Role
As the Partnerships Lead at the client, you will be working directly alongside the CEO & Founder to execute and scale key strategic partnerships internationally that drive the company’s growth and scale exponentially.
This is not a sales role, but a strategic partnerships role that requires long term planning, thoughtful, considered contract modelling/negotiation and collaborative relationship management that enables the successful accomplishment of our partner’s objectives, as well as our own.
You will immediately adopt responsibility for pre-existing partnerships with some of the largest consultancies in the world including the “Big Four.” The role therefore requires an exceptionally high standard of executive communication skills and the ability to work confidently and autonomously in tandem with C-Suite executives within Fortune 500 cultural environments.
The Partnerships Lead is the face of the brand and, while we are a young startup, this role is required to act and execute at the equivalent level of our more advanced, extremely established Fortune 500 partners.
The role involves high-pressure commercial and strategic targets for an extremely scalable software solution and opportunity that is progressing rapidly already. Despite this, we are still at an early stage as a business. Therefore the Partnerships Lead will need to be very comfortable with creatively adapting to a rapidly evolving set of relationships and objectives that can change from month to month.
A large number of their partnerships involve strategy consultancy projects. You will therefore be dealing with a wide range of extremely diverse (and sometimes complex) subjects, seeking to answer strategic questions asked by the executive teams of large corporations with a distinct set of goals and outcomes. Context switching will be a regular and necessary part of the role.
The role will require international travel, given the location of our partners’ executive teams.
You will assume a pivotal role in defining the journey and trajectory of the business. Their greatest strength is its ability to execute and maintain successful and lucrative relationships with its partners. This role will own and define how we build and sustain each partnership individually and a strategic partnerships growth model overall.
The successful candidate will be required to build a 2+ year hiring strategy for the Partnerships Org and then to execute against it. Our team is global, so the successful candidate must be comfortable and excited to hire and manage internationally.
Experience Required
Demonstrated success in a relevant role across business development or partnerships.
A background in management / strategy consulting at e.g. McKinsey, Accenture, BCG would be a major advantage.
Strong preference towards high academic achievers (we are a heavily research-led organisation with research forming a core part of our partnership activity). Demonstrated success in a research area at university or professionally and accompanying strong writing skills will be a major advantage. MBAs valued.
Demonstrable accomplishments in achieving mutually beneficial outcomes between external partners and your employer.
A demonstrable track record of success in building and managing strategic partnerships in the enterprise software, SaaS, technology and/or consulting industry.
Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving measurable outcomes and delivering value to external partners and customers
Passion for the power of technology and innovation to make the world better - faster, fairer and more productive
Extremely high standard of communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of an organisation
Creative, strategic thinker with the ability to identify new opportunities in previously untapped areas requiring innovative approaches
