Job description
Our client is a Tier 1 FMCG company with operations globally. They are looking for a Communications or Strategy Consultant to support them with work related to Reporting.
Contract length:Initial term through January 2027, with a strong likelihood of a further ~6 month extension
Start:ASAP
Location:Remote
Preferred time zone:UK / Ireland / Scotland
Role Purpose
They are looking to hire a full-time, remotely based support contractor to take day-to-day operational, reporting, and documentation work off the lead on the FMCG firm. This role is designed to free up senior time for higher-value strategic work.
The successful candidate will work largely independently, with limited daily overlap once onboarding is complete.
Working Setup
Remote, full-time contractor
Preferred time zone: UK (approx. 5–6 hours ahead of US East Coast)
Initial onboarding will involve a few hours of daily overlap for training and handover
Ongoing overlap will be minimal once templates and standards are established
Core Responsibilities
This is a hands-on, execution-focused role that covers both structured and ad hoc work.
Approx. 50% structured/repeatable work
PowerPoint deck creation and updates (status, compliance, reporting)
Excel-based data handling and reporting
Organising and maintaining photo libraries for retail fixture installations
Turning field inputs into clear, well-structured decks and summaries
Approx. 50% ad-hoc support
One-off analysis requests
Data slicing, reformatting, and re-presentation
Supporting varied requests that require judgment and adaptability
Required Skills & Experience
PowerPoint (non-negotiable)
Very high proficiency required
Strong attention to layout, fonts, alignment, and template discipline
Candidates must provide PowerPoint work samples
Slides need to be clean, consistent, and client-ready
This will be reviewed carefully — quality really matters here
Excel
Confident handling of large datasets (20–30k rows)
Strong with sorting, filtering, pivot tables, and data restructuring
VBA/macros not required, but speed and accuracy are essential
Organisation & Reporting
Excellent organisational skills
Comfortable managing large volumes of photos and documentation
Able to create compliance decks, status summaries, and issue trackers from field inputs
Ways of Working
Self-starter, proactive, and detail-oriented
Able to work with minimal supervision
Learns quickly and applies feedback consistently
Comfortable reusing templates and standards rather than reinventing work
Personality & Fit
Chemistry is important for this role. They are looking for someone who is confident (but not ego-driven), proactive, dependable, calm, organised, solution-oriented and happy in a true support role that is critical, but not client-facing leadership.
