Job description
Our client is a diversified, owner-managed industrial and investment firm that invests entrepreneurial equity exclusively in medium-sized companies with value creation potential. They follow an operational approach and support their portfolio companies in their strategic realignment as an active partner to management, with the objective of increasing value sustainably and over the long term. Portfolio companies benefit from an extensive network in the automotive, manufacturing, and consumer goods industries.
To strengthen their team they are looking for an Investment Manager focussing on restructuring and operational transformation.
Your Responsibilities
As an Investment Manager, you will assume a central role in the operational transformation and sustainable performance improvement of the portfolio companies. You will act as an integral part of the shareholder team and as an operational sparring partner to portfolio company management. From the shareholder side, you will have full responsibility for execution control.
Your responsibilities include in particular:
Steering and leading comprehensive transformation and performance improvement programs within portfolio companies
Close collaboration with portfolio company management and key stakeholders on strategic and operational issues
Leading cross-company transformation and performance improvement initiatives in close alignment with local management
Structuring, prioritizing, and implementing concrete measures along the entire value chain (e.g. organization, processes, costs, supply chain, performance management)
Assuming on-site operational responsibility in portfolio companies for project durations of up to 18–24 months
Leading and coordinating interdisciplinary project teams as well as managing external advisors
Ensuring end-to-end implementation, including progress, action, and results controlling
Regular, audience-appropriate reporting to shareholders and group management
The role is strongly execution-oriented and combines analytical depth with clear accountability for results and a high level of ownership.
Your Profile
Experience & Qualifications
Several years of relevant professional experience in restructuring, reorganization, performance improvement, or PMO roles—ideally at a leading management consultancy, on the investor side, or in a comparable environment
Proven experience in independently managing complex projects and workstreams
Ability to take responsibility in challenging change situations and to drive projects to successful outcomes in a structured manner
Very strong command of analytical, financial, and operational management tools for the development and execution of transformation and performance improvement programs
Demonstrated track record in designing and implementing sustainable transformation plans and performance improvements
Functional Focus (at least one of the following areas)
Finance, accounting, or controlling
Supply chain and manufacturing management
Operational process optimization / Operational Excellence
Personal Competencies
Strong entrepreneurial and results-oriented mindset with a high sense of ownership
Excellent analytical and conceptual skills combined with strong execution capabilities
Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly in transformation and change contexts
High degree of personal responsibility, resilience, and assertiveness
Education & Languages
Excellent academic background (Master’s degree, Diploma, PhD, or equivalent)
Business-fluent German and English; additional languages are an advantage
